"where's the party?"

Bienviendo a San Nicolas!!! It´s SO different here, but I love
it. I was expecting pretty much the same because I heard Paraná was a pretty big city, so when I found out I was going to centro in San Nicolas, I figured it would be the same. But its WAY more city-ish, people are always in a rush going from one place to another, the people are a lot more cold, and its very rich here. When I went to church yesterday, it felt like I was home. The ward is VERy wealthy. Much bigger, about 80 people go every Sunday and all the men wear nice suits and the women nice nice clothes. Very different, but I love it already so much. The first appointment that we went to was in the nicest apartment I have been in during my time in Argentina. After we left I told my comp that, and she said "oh thats how most of the members are as well" and it was very true! We do have villa (ghetto) in our area and there are members there, but they don't feel comfortable in the ward because it's really rich and a little snobby (I don't blame them, I felt the same!). But its a really fun area and I love it so much already. Very beautiful, the architecture is incredible and I am right on the Paraná river once again. Plus the shopping is amazing, ah my comp is going to kill me! I bought some incredible boots today, so so so cute. Everyone here wears boots, and it kills me everyday. I love boots.

I have been living in heaven as well. In Paraná, when I walked in our pench I thought it was the biggest dump I had ever seen. Then I went to the members and investigators and realized I was living a lot better than most. When I got to San Nicolas, I felt like I was in a hotel. The shower is so nice, we wake up every morning in a toasty pench, the kitchen is awesome, CARPET, I was dancing around so excited when I saw how nice our pench was. Then I went to the members...and I realized how dumpy our living quarters are compared to theirs haha. But Another bonus about my new area.
NOW About my new companion. SHE IS AWESOME!!! Sooooo fun. Her name is Paula Patricia Reyes and she is from El Salvador. She has a brother right now on his mission in Paraguay, and she finishes in November. The only things she knows in English are "listen to me honey", "maybe, maybe not!" and "where´s the party?" haha so lets just say this is the most English that I've spoken in a week now. Really, that is what I needed. My Spanish is getting so much better, I understand her almost completely and if there is a word I don't understand, she helps explain it to me. She is so patient to help me learn but we laugh all the time and are having a blast working. SHe is an extremely hard worker and is practically perfect in every way. It's just funny because she is about 5´2´´ so I tower over her. First thing everyone says is "wow, you are TALL!!!" haha I love it.
And the other new changes, our new President! We went to a special conference Thursday in Rosario to meet him and his wife. They are SO sweet. I really love them. Lots of rules changed (for the better) and I just got such a good feeling as they talked to all of us. They love us so much already and I got so much excitement as they addressed us. The wife told her conversion story and made us all cry, and next month we will have personal interviews. I'm really excited. PLUS at this conference I saw Hermana Mohulamu and Hermana Rentfro, my MTC buddies!!! I haven't seen them in 6 months, it was a wonderful reunion.
I love my mission, I love this work, I love my companions, I love the gospel.
Pray for success in San Nicolas!
Hermana Collins
