THis week has been a lot more beautiful. I think the cold days are gone!!! I hopefully wont have anymore cold until a year and a half!!! woot woot! but I'm sure when I'm dying in the summer I'll miss the days I was huddled by a heater planning at night.
So I have a pretty funny story for this week. On Sunday we met this awesome guy named Oswaldo, and he listened to us as we taught about the plan of salvation and immediately accepted a date to be baptized. He was way awesome! but we found him in the street and took down his address to go by his house and teach his family later. So on Wednesday evening, about 7:45, we were looking on the street he gave us for his house. I think we heard his number wrong because the house didn't exist, so we were a little lost. There was a woman outside just drinking maté and we politely asked "excuse me, but do you know an Oswaldo who lives close to her" and she aggressively shook her finger at us and yelled "CHAU. CHAU!" and ran in her house and slammed her door. uh, ok weirdo. We didn't even try to present ourselves or contact her, we were just curious to where Oswaldo lived. We went over to her neighbors and knocked on their house to ask them where Oswaldo lived. They didn't know, but as we were asking them I could see that women peering really weirdly at us through the crack of her door. We walked in front of her house to leave (because the other woman didn't know) and I saw her giving us the death glare. I said "buenas noches!" and she said nothing and just kept staring at us looking like we were devil worshipers or something. I was a little offended at how extreme she was, but we just kept walking. Then we saw a cop car come driving down the road....and stopped us...and said "excuse me, have you two been knocking on doors around here?" we said yes we knocked one door to ask where this one man lived because we had the wrong address by accident, and they said to us "oh because a woman just frantically called us saying there are two suspicious girls knocking doors around here" SHE CALLED THE COPS ON US! I laughed so hard and luckily the cops knew who we were, but had to go over and explain to the woman that we were not there to harm her. For goodness sakes, we are two tall goofy Americans who are in skirts, basically a step down from a full time nun. And she called the cops on us. So for anyone that is worried for my safety, apparently WE are the most dangerous things here.
The other hermanas left last week, so we have been lonely in our pench all this week.I miss them a lot, esp hermana reyes because I don't know when I'll see her again. I do have goals to go to El Salvador someday, more than I have goals to come back to Argentina. although I would love to do both. oh if money didn't matter...
That is pretty much the most exciting part of my week. The rest is work like normal. I get to go to the mission home today to do party (ok, not party, to go with a bunch of people to Rosario to do fingerprint stuff and renew my visa, but still, should be fun). I love my comp so much right now. She is so fun, such a hard worker, really awesome missionary. I hope we get another transfer together.
Recently we have been doing so much more study on the atonement of Jesus Christ. I cannot express my love for my Savior when I think of all that He did for me, so I can live in eternal happiness. Words really cannot express how incredible of a blessing it is that Christ died for all of our sins, pains, and sorrows. Want some good reading? D & C 19 I think verses 15-19. Just read the whole chapter, its all good.
LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH
