Can you believe it has already been 6 months?!?! I feel like yesterday I wrote saying I hit my 4 month mark, now I already go home in a year! This has just flown by so stinkin fast.
So cool news! Our ward mission leader got his mission call! He had been waiting for his call for 5 months (can you imagine???) and he is going....to the England London South mission!!!! He is going to speak English! It was crazy because no one here really goes that far away on their mission. He will do awesome though. I told him that's where my dad served, but I couldn't think of any cool stories to make him excited other than about those guards who don't move and how the dogs are scary (well, that's the same here. Maybe London isn't much different haha). But we had a meeting with him and at the end we were jokingly teaching him how to pray in English like what we do for our English classes. Then we told him he should pray for us in English because that will be the first thing he learns when he goes to the MTC (ps he enters middle of August to the London MTC). From when he first said "Our Dear Heavenly Father" I was overwhelmed by the spirit. It was so thick and powerful. He ended his prayer, and Hermana Kusilek and I looked at each other and both agreed we had felt the spirit so intensely. I was overwhelmed with the sensation I got when I opened my mission call and saw I was going to serve in Argentina speaking Spanish. These callings really are sacred and chosen for a reason. He is going all the way to England to speak English because there are people waiting to hear his testimony. I thought that was pretty cool.
This Sunday was an awesome Sunday at church. We have good ones and bad ones. But this one was awesome, almost all of our investigators came, we gave talks (3rd time now), and these senior missionaries came to our ward also. I was intimidated because I was sure they were going to judge me for my stuttering Spanish, but after I talked to the Hermana, she had the most Utah accent I have ever heard, and I don't think she knew a lick of Spanish. They are serving together in the offices in Buenos Aires and came to a meeting close to ParanĂ¡ so they came to our ward. It was nice. The meeting was also nice and spiritual because it was Kusileks last Sunday. Well, next Sunday is her last last one, but her mom will be here. Her mom gets here in 3 days! And next time I write I will be telling you all about my new companion. Please pray she will like to run as well....yes that is a big concern for me (just kidding, kind of...)
Right now I LLLOOOVVVEEE my investigators. Well, I always love them. But these ones just are so awesome. We are teaching the coolest family; the mom is very catholic, like as catholic as you get without going to church, and the dad doesn't believe in God. But they have a little one year old girl names Sofia who is darling. But i remember teaching them the first time, we taught the plan of salvation. It was just cool how the plan just meets in the middle of both of their needs. We were at their house again the other day and he was showing us his photography stuff (he takes awesome pictures of stars and such) and he turned to us and said " you kno, i really love you girls. I remember when other religions would come and try to teach us and i would tell them i didn't believe in God, they just left. boom, chau. But you two, you two really show me that you care about us. I really like that." I know it is really hard for him to pray and ask if there is a God, but I hope he does, because like he said, we really do care about him, and I want him to have that feeling of Gods love in his life.
Another one of my favorites is Alexis. He is Cesar's best friend. Which PS Cesar is now our new ward mission leader! I was stoked, nothing cooler than having someone you just baptized a month ago now have a calling in the church! But Alexis is progressing a lot. Last night he told us he really is starting to feel like these things are true. We are just so happy seeing these changes in his life and hope that he continues to progress.
Those are my best friends right now (along with many many many others). >Spanish was a lot better this week, that was good. Who knows, maybe now ill get a Latino comp and never ever speak English again.
Well I think that is all, I get to see Kusileks mom soon, I get a new comp soon, I might change areas soon (or be here for another transfer, quien sabe) but all will be for the best! My mission is about to change a lot! Thank you for keeping me in your prayers!
