April 4, 2011
Wow its already April? Just yesterday it was October!!! fastest 6 months of my life. anyways, this week was really really good. I didn't get to watch conference Saturday, i heard from the people it was good. Man it is just so cool to think about how conference is really broad casted all over the world. Never in my life would i have thought that someday i would be in a city on the other side of the world seeing conference broad casted in Spanish. Sometimes when i sit back and realize that I'm really on a mission all the way in Argentina my mind is blown. And I'm so grateful for this experience as well. It really is so cool to just live with the people and spend every day serving them, getting to know them, and talk about Christ. I love the mission so much.
We (us Yankee missionaries) watched conference in the secretaries office in English, THANK GOODNESS!!! I think I would've understood just fine in Spanish, but it really is just so good to hear their actual voices. Elder Scott's talk made my comp and i teary-eyed. And a lot of talks were on revelation. I truly have a strong testimony on revelation. The day before we contacted this man who was a testigo de Jehovah (Jehovah Witness) and we told him how we pray to find the truth and he just laughed at us and called us fools. It surprised me, but i just walked away just so thankful that God listens to my prayers and that I can have the opportunity to communicate with him and that the heavens are not closed. I love our prophet so much, and am thankful God is merciful enough to try to lead us and guide us in so many ways.
Second best part of conference I would have to say though, was that an elder brought peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. heaven.
We did this really fun thing after conference, called a choque (shock). It's where all the missionaries in our zone go to someones area and just contact a fool. Its fun to do work outside of your area, for some reason it makes you a lot more bold. We got a lot of investigators to come to conference by doing that. It was awesome.
Next week is transfers!!! Woah!!! So today we got together as a zone and played some football Americana. The Latinos were so funny while we played it, i felt like a rock star, and I'm not even good at football at all! but then we played real futbol. yikes. i should of practiced more with Carson....
This week was hot, rainy, hail, and full of mosquitoes. gotta love living in a tropical place.
We taught and invited this man named Luis to be baptized, he is great, only problem is that he is 88 and is tremendously sick and never leaves his bed. like he wears a diaper and has to be fed and everything. I almost feel like he is already dead...but he did say he wanted to be baptized. anyone of you RM´s out there have suggestions on how to do this?
I love you all so much. Thank you for the support, And congrats a ton to all the engaged girlies out there, WOO! Send me invites and pics galore OK? i LOVE pictures.
