My Double Identity

If you see a girl who looks JUST like this, but she doesn't respond to "Hilary", "Hilly", "Hill", "Ree", "Girl", "Little Girl", "Hill Billy", "Hill Billy Goat Gruff", and so on, she isn't me. In fact, it's my twin. I have been told COUNTLESS times that there is a girl lurking BYU campus who looks exactly like me, yet I have never seen her. I used to think I had this problem that I was rude to people and blew them off and didn't know their names when they said hi, but turns out, it wasn't me they knew, it was my twin! I have had people sit by me while studying, then turn and realize I'm not the right person. Someone in one of my classes said "Oh you work in the CougarEat right?" Uhh...no...I don't. But she was sure I did! My friends have even said "Hil, we saw you by the HFAC (building on campus) and you didn't say hi!" Well, that's because I never was at the HFAC. It just gets weirder and weirder.

The craziest was yesterday. I was walking back from my class and I was near the tennis courts heading home. Two girls were walking, when I heard one of them say "Hey Amanda!" and give a big friendly wave. I assumed Amanda was behind me--after all, my name is definitely not Amanda. The other girl chimed in, "Amanda! What's up?!" and I just kept on walking. Then they stared at me. They continued to wave, and I realized it was at me. I looked behind me, and no one was there. Then we were face to face. The first girl looks at me and says, "Uh, Amanda?" And I didn't know how to respond other than just blankly staring. They walked past me, and I overheard them murmur "What was her deal? Why didn't she say hi?" OH NO! They still thought it was my twin! And now I probably caused some huge drama fight because they could think Amanda was blowing them off. Ah, looking back now, I should have stopped them and said "WAIT! Who is this Amanda girl? Seriously. I need to meet her, it is driving me mad."

Amanda. Where are you. We could probably reinact the Parent Trap. We can fix the mass confusion boggling up BYU. And I'm sure you are sick of people too coming up to you and talking to you without you having any idea who they are. Plus, we can share clothes.
