Today I had a really nice and special experience. I could go on and talk about all the fun activities I did with my brothers as their last day of summer, but instead I want to focus on what we did this evening. For the past year, my family has invited a good friend of my brothers to church and just recently he agreed to hear some missionary discussions. We invited him to our home while the missionaries came and gave him the first discussion, and I was able to sit in. The spirit was so strong, and I was so touched the whole time. I loved hearing his questions, I loved thinking of how I would answer them and then seeing how the Elders answered them. And it was all just even more confirmation, the Lord wants and needs me to serve a mission. I do wish I could go sooner. My soul just felt so much enlightenment as I heard the Elders share in their message
Jesus loves us --
We have a Prophet on this earth NOW --
The Book of Mormon is the word of God --
God wants us to live with him again --
He answers our prayers --
Joseph Smith restored the keys of this gospel to this earth -- and so many many more. Listening to that message really touched me, even if it wasn't intended for me.
On another spiritual note, I am reading the Book of Mormon 3 times a day now, all in different spots with different people. My personal, my family, and one with my close friend. May I say, that I now have a strong testimony that reading this book brings you closer to God, it makes you a happier person, and it makes any relationship you have with someone strong when you share your thoughts on it together. I am so grateful my family does that everyday, it makes my love for everyone in it stronger. And when reading with my friend, I was able to notice more things that I never saw myself when reading it alone.
I cannot wait to serve. Making this decision has changed my life so much, definitely for the better. Optimism in everything can be found through the gospel. I KNOW that.
i love you! and miss you lots!
