Conference Rocked

October 5,2011
General conference was a.m.a.z.i.n.g. I don't know about anyone else, but I felt like every single talk was about missionary work. it was just so good. i loved it all. the only bummer was that i watched it all in Spanish so i missed hearing their real voices, but i still understood everything and got lots of answers to questions that i had had. Plus we had lots of investigators and i felt like it was so good for them to hear those specific talks. It was by far my favorite conference session i have watched, just so incredible. I wanna know how Karissa and Marlee must have felt in the MTC listening to those incredible talks on missionary work, and Stacy preparing for her mission as well. and Lewis that STUD who is going to NY!!! I forgot i did guess that, that just means it was the spirit and not me at all.
So this week was great, feliz octubre! the weather has been great, I've put away all my winter clothes hopefully for good! the summer skirts feel nice to wear and are easier to bike in. no super funny bike stories this week, but some days we ended up biking from one end of our pueblo to the other, about 10 miles. i slept like a rock this whole week.
I have this one pretty funny story. So one night hna kastigar and i were teaching a man who recently got baptized and all of his grandkids who want to be baptized but don't have permission from their mom. as we were leaving, he said to me very seriously "oh hermana, there has been something i have been meaning to tell you" i decided to pay extra attention because sometimes he talks fast and is hard to understand. i listen to him say his "the other night, i was outside just looking at the sky, when all the sudden i saw an "ovni" over there" i pause and listen harder because i didn't know what the word "ovni" meant. he was saying how normally he sees airplanes, but this was different, and he kept talking and i said "you saw an ovni?" "sí hermana, yo vi un ovni" and i kept saying "ovni?" and he would just say "sí hermana" and i had no idea what he was talking about but i was too tired to try to figure it out because we were already late to be in the pench. as we bike away i ask hermana kastigar what on earth an ovni was. she had no idea as well. the first thing we did when we got in the pench was look it up. it means UFO!!! hahaha!!! he told me how he saw a UFO in Funes, and all i said (because i was too tired) was "well thank you very much for telling us that" haha lets just hope they are the 3 foot ones and not the 6 foot aliens, those guys are trouble. whats funny is at the same time i had that conversation, hermana kastigar was talking to the grandkids and their friends, when one asked "are you scared of the police?" hna kastigar laughed and said "no, why do you ask that?" and she said "oh because the other day i saw you and your comp in the back of a police car being taken to jail" hna kastigar tried to assure her that it wasn't us but she said "no, it was you guys, I'm sure of it. i saw you two in the back of his car" and then told everyone how we went to jail. i can assure all of you that that definitely did not happen...
so we may have a baptism this week!!! oh i so so so hope so. its for Miguel, who is AWESOME. and so so close. I will let you know next week. but keep that in your prayers, he is so incredible.
i know this church is so true. i know it with all of my heart. i am so grateful for all the gospel has to offer. till next week!
